Description:
Introduction to databases (DB). Database Management Systems (DBMS). Methods for storing information. Relational model and SQL. Development of database applications. Open code databases. Implementation and maintenance of a WEB Server. Programming dynamic pages. Database Management through the internet. Design problems. Future trends. Prerequisites: Knowledge of programming language C. (The objective is not to teach the programming language, but to familiarize students with the issues of organizing and managing memory and data structures.) Lab requirements: a) Computer availability for all students during the entire course b) Fast access to the internet (for the web applications of the course).
